Cast stone is a porous cement manufactured from natural sands, carefully crushed stone, gravels, minerals, and pigments combined to achieve a color and architectural look often used in exterior parts of masonry on a building. It behaves similar to cement in that if not cleaned and sealed, the surface will hold soil and is susceptible to staining. In fact, in high moisture areas, it is common to find mold, mildew and microbial growth staining, and in worst case scenarios, cast stone will erode from water damage in states that have harsh winter climates.

Pre-Treatment: spray application of our alkaline trimix chemical with the purpose of breaking the surface tension of the soil, penetrating the grout in order to defloculate imbedded soil. It then breaks down soil and suspends it in the water molecule/cleaning detergent for easy removal.
Agitation: Manual or Mechanical – Aids the Pre-Treatment to saturate, and helps further loosen soil.
Extract: done via truck mount or portable machine vacuums off suspended soil in water molecules
Rinse: Triple Steam rinse flushes out any dirt remaining in the tile & grout ensuring full removal.
Emulsify: a chemical rinse that is the 2nd rinse step synergistically reacts with the pre-treatment to attract all chemical and soil to the surface
Neutralize: a chemical rinse that is the 3rd step in the rinse step that flushes all residue and solutions out, neutralizes them, and brings the tile & grout PH back to balance PH7 to prevent re-soiling.
Speed dry: expedite drying to eliminate/avoid efflorescence
Dry Buff: Removes any remaining residue, also aids to expedite drying
Seal: Application of appropriate deep impregnating/penetrating sealer. (sealers may vary depending on the type of stone)
Final Buff: Ensures full penetration of sealer, removes any excess sealer residue.
All repair areas need to be properly cleaned prior to performing any repairs
All loose material will be removed from the repair site
If applicable, forms will be made hold the matrix repair material in place
Application of matrix material
Striking and shaping of matrix repair material
Newly poured matrix repair material requires 48 hours to cure
Repeat the above steps if necessary, to form the repair to the likeness of the pre-existing cast
Final Cleanup of repair site
Seal all areas that were repaired
Note: Repairs are an ongoing process and are subject to weather contingencies. Rain, heat, and humidity all play a factor in the curing process of the matrix repair material.
